Enough Is Enough: Diminishing Returns And Sufficiency in the forum Netist Philosophy 5 months, 3 weeks agoIve learned over the last few years about how less can be more… it’s a hard economy out there, and I’m a lot more sane with money in the bank than stuff cluttering my house. It’s a hard mindset to adapt because we’re so trained to want things all the time, but what really matters in life is time… how do we spend it? Spending all my time…[Read more]

Favor and disgrace as twin snares for the heart in the forum Netist Philosophy 5 months, 3 weeks agoThe ego is the victor’s worst enemy, let it carry on long enough, and it’ll kill him for you. I agree with everything said here. It’s an important subject, and one that’s easily forgotten when pertaining to the self. No one likes a narcissist, but a narcissist might have a hard time understanding that.

Enough Is Enough: Diminishing Returns And Sufficiency in the forum Netist Philosophy 5 months, 3 weeks agoAs a collector, its hard to know when enough is enough. It really never is. I collect various little monitios (small statues and hand made items). Once I see one I like, I usually dont buy it at first. But if i keep coming back to it or can’t get it off my head, ill go buy it. I need more shelves just to display the most recent ones I got at a…[Read more]

Enough Is Enough: Diminishing Returns And Sufficiency in the forum Netist Philosophy 5 months, 3 weeks agoModern markets are engines that convert attention into appetite. The message arrives a thousand ways each day. You could be happier with one more feature, one more upgrade, one more step up the ladder. Desire becomes a moving target, always just beyond reach. The truth is simpler. Early gains matter. Later gains often add weight. A tool that once…[Read more]

Favor and disgrace as twin snares for the heart in the forum Netist Philosophy 5 months, 3 weeks agoThe Tao Te Ching warns of becoming concerned with other people’s opinions, stating that getting favor often leads to complications of ego, obsession with popularity, followed by the need to perform or adjust the image to maintain favor. It is a trap that keeps one off the spiritual path, obsessed with material pursuits and endeavors that give no…[Read more]

Growing a Green Wall: Thorn Hedgerows for Security in the forum Earth & Its Caretakers 5 months, 3 weeks agoWhat if a property line grew itself? No quarry, no timber crews, only a planted seed that thickens every season. A fence invites a challenge; it says there is treasure inside. A ten-foot sprawl of thorns says, “why bother,” and animals read the same message. Plant a living perimeter and you gain cover, habitat, fruit, medicine, windbreak, and a…[Read more]

Adinkra Symbols: Ancient Flows of Spirit Across Civilizations in the forum Ancient and Sacred Symbolism 5 months, 3 weeks agoAdinkra symbols, in their known form, were developed in West Africa, yet their roots reach far deeper than the cultures that now carry them. The Complete Beginner’s Guide to Dream Recall in the forum Dream Logs & Astral Insights 6 months agoI think the Net carries dreams like currents in a river. We just have to learn how to cup our hands right to catch them. If our minds are not receptive, they will flow right past us. In the beginning, at least for me, I had to physically do something… keeping a journal was that something.
