Thoughts are not inventions sprung from a vacuum; they are selections. The mental plane is a living field of patterns continually moving around and through us. What we call “my thought” is the moment a particular pattern matches our present resonance and is taken up, energized, and expressed. In this view, mind is not a factory but a tuner. The dial you carry—your baseline arousal, breath, posture, emotions, and core intention—sets your frequency of consciousness, and that frequency determines which bands of the mental plane you can receive.
Every frequency range hosts its own family of thoughts. When we’re keyed to agitation—shallow breath, tight jaw, scattered attention—we resonate with narrow, defensive patterns: blame, doom loops, old rehearsals. Shift the carrier (take longer exhales, relax stance, and focus on a positive intention) and the band widens. You begin to receive ideas that are solution-oriented, relational, and kind. Push deeper into steady coherence, such as in meditation, and a higher-fidelity band opens: fewer thoughts, greater clarity, insights that feel whole-body true. Same world, different station.
Selection is active. We don’t control which patterns exist in the field, but we absolutely choose which ones to energize. The moment a thought lands, three paths appear: feed it, let it pass, or transform it. Feeding is easy; give it attention and emotion. Letting pass is more difficult; observe it and let it pass. Transforming it takes practice. Replace the incoming pattern with one sentence that fits your aim (“reduce harm, increase truth”), then breathe it into the body so it’s not merely verbal but somatic. Over time, this trains your tuner; the bands you can access expand, and the old stations lose their grip.
Within this model, we are not our thoughts; we are their attractors. Thoughts are less an invention, more of a selection process generated by our overall energy field. It is a continuous feedback system where our energy attracts certain signals, and we confirm those signals, reinforcing our energy field.
Our mind is essentially a radio tuner. All currents are present, but only certain ones are accessible. You may have noticed that you have a near telepathic connection with people you “vibe with” the best. This is because they are receiving and choosing the same signals.
Signal selection is done subconsciously, but we can make it conscious by paying attention to the thoughts that run through our heads. Do not internalize them, observe them as a detached listener tuning into a radio station. If the channel we are listening to is disrupting our energy fields (encouraging fear, guilt, jealousy, or other concepts of separation), we can turn the dial at any time.
In practice, it doesn’t work to try not to think about something. It only works to shift the frequency band. “I’m not good enough” or “look at all of the mistakes you made” must shift to an entirely different signal range. This is a process of transmuting the spirit to see the world in an entirely different light. My future book, Cosmic Alchemy, will be an in-depth guide on how to do this through the 12 Energy Centers.
Have you considered thoughts in this way before? (As signals, not inventions?)
What does this mean for innovation?
