An artist’s inspiration often begins years before they ever touch a tool. It lives in the books we couldn’t put down, the music that cracked something open, the paintings or films that made the world feel wider. These early encounters awaken our creative frequency.

As a writer, I read countless books before I started writing, but a few stand out to me as memorable influences. I always loved the absurdity of Kurt Vonnegut, the rational poetry of Thoreau, and the elegance of works like Les Misérables and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Philosophical fiction, like Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra or Siddhartha, showed me that I could entwine philosophy and spirituality into fiction. Without great works like this, I probably would have never been inspired to create myself.

What are your biggest inspirations in relation to your creative skill? Who helped shape your voice?

For me it started way before I touched decks. I remember hearing Primus for the first time and I was SHOOK…. Later it was artists like Massive Attack, Burial, and Aphex Twin. Their tracks were environments I wanted to live inside. It wasn’t always electronic either. Stuff like Tool and Radiohead had this emotional density that taught me how sound could carry meaning without words explaining it. So now when I mix, I try to follow that trend… creating space, tension, texture. Not just a beat to move to, but something that shifts your headspace.
