Looking back, many of us can name moments where just one kind word—one message of truth, affirmation, or permission—could have changed everything. For those walking the LGBTQ+ path, those messages are often missing or delayed. Netism holds that all beings deserve to walk in alignment with who they are, without shame, distortion, or fear.

Sometimes healing comes from hearing the words we never received, and sometimes from becoming the one who says them.

What do you wish someone had told you earlier in your journey? What message would you offer to someone now standing where you once stood?

Don’t be afraid to be yourself. I always felt like ppl would criticize me if I just acted like I wanted to. It took me all the way thru college to realize that I could be me and ppl could like it or not like it and the ppl who don’t like it I don’t want to be around anyway. Haters gonna hate no matter who you are. Just gotta let go.

I’m starting to realize I never had happy childhood I so desperately wanted to most of them were spent being bullied and hating on by straight people school, Family, everywhere I went I faced bullying for being gay and the friends I had I felt like a accessory like the gay best friend to go shopping and do makeup with but that was it. Never went to prom. I didnt get comfortable with my idenity until late 20s and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone to live like I did love yourself now because you’re worth it.
