There is far more power in a wand crafted oneself, pulled from the environment, than a mass-produced one from a store.
Living water pulled from a river can hardly be called the same element as water pulled from a tap.

As Pagan, nature is incredibly important in practice.
Most likely, we have elements around us we are unaware of.
For example, there is a shrubby tree growing in my front lawn. With a little research, I found out that it’s a tamarisk tree (juniper shrub) that is treated like a weed here, but actually has links to Usir (Osiris) in ancient Egypt. It was used for crafting coffins, and some myths state that Usir was tied to a Tamarisk tree and eventually buried inside.

Tamarisk later was referenced in the Bible, where Abraham plants one in Beersheba. Its ability to grow in tough environments is meant to symbolize God’s resiliency.

I use Tamarisk for its relation to Ancient Egypt. I keep some bark shavings in a jar to burn in settings focused on renewal and perseverance.

What plants do you have surrounding you?
Do they have any magical significance?
      How could we use them?
