What if we are misinterpreting ancient myth, taking them too literally? If we can accept that human civilization started much earlier, with the emergence of Ancient Egypt, as the emergence of a new cycle, then the door becomes open to look at ancient stories with fresh perspectives. Perhaps ancient people, long before the rise of dynastic Egypt,…[Read more]

Cracking the Cosmic Egg: Orphic, Vedic, and Egyptian Beginnings in the forum Mythology, Archetypes & Folklore 1 week, 3 days ago
The Cosmic Egg is a theme that shows up in several places in ancient myths about the origin of the universe. Here, I’ll give an overview of the myth in Greece, India, and Egypt, and compare them to Netism’s analogy.
Orphic Greece: In the Orphic tradition, creation begins with a luminous cosmic egg formed by primordial Time (Chronos) and Necessity…[Read more]

Twin Heros and Multiversal Connection in the forum Mythology, Archetypes & Folklore 2 weeks, 1 day ago
I think I’ve been getting in touch with one of my shards recently… for the last several nights i dreamt that I was walking through an empty field, trying to salvage seeds. I feel a deep connection to the earth in this one, like she’s trying to tell me something……… what you say about how we need to take care of the earth is important, she…[Read more]

Twin Heros and Multiversal Connection in the forum Mythology, Archetypes & Folklore 3 weeks, 3 days ago
When I was a teenager I remember seeing a movie where a girl went through a mirror. It was some weird independent film, but it stuck with me. The other world looked similar with the same looking people but they weren’t the same… It rattled me a little I guess because I still remember it.

Two twins dominate this archetype: Hunahpu and Xbalanque from the Mayan’s Popul Vuh and the Castor and Pollox constellations.
In the K’iche’ Maya Popol Vuh, Hunahpu and Xbalanque are the Hero Twins, sons of the maiden Xquic and the slain ballplayer Hun Hunahpu. The underworld rulers of Xibalba had killed their father and uncle after defeating the…[Read more]

Labyrinths and Spiral Paths: Theseus, Chartres, desert spirals, and navigation in the forum Mythology, Archetypes & Folklore 4 weeks ago
The road to ascension is never a straight path.
In Netism, a labyrinth is a mirror of the Net. You enter with a question, and walk a living thread through turns that fold back on themselves. Each bend brings new information, not all of it useful, some essential. Each return move shows a new angle on the same center. Throughout this maze, we learn…[Read more]

Jack and the Beanstalk: The Climb Between Worlds in the forum Mythology, Archetypes & Folklore 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Wow I never know so much was in this story, but it makes total sense, it’s all symbolic, like lots of ancient myths… I’ve climbed the stalk in my spiritual ventures, maybe not as much as Jack, but I can relate. He didn’t know what to do with the gifts though, he squandered them, I think that’s the big message here.
