In The Young Man and the Sage, the sage describes how the world isn’t saveable. He tried to save it, to teach people to wake up to see things differently, but most people didn’t want to listen.

This brings up a compelling question: Can we help to improve society if society doesn’t want the help?

Most likely, we can’t work to change the majority in our lifetimes, but the result shouldn’t matter. In the end, it’s not about changing anyone but ourselves.

“To reach enlightenment, to see the suffering of the world, and feel no desire to alleviate it … Well, I don’t think that enlightenment would last long.” (The Young Man and the Sage)

Evolution isn’t a solitary effort. We grow by spreading growth. But no one else’s ascension is in our hands, nor is society obligated to embrace our truths.

The sage lived a very lonely life, although he made many meaningful contacts along the way.

What about us? If we reach a state of enlightenment, are we obligated to share it with a disinterested world?

🌎💔 this is so real… it’s one of those cosmic heartbreaks i come back to again n again. like… when you see so much suffering and you know how it could shift, but most people aren’t ready (or willing) to listen 🌪️💫
but here’s the thing… truth is never wasted. even if one soul hears it and begins to ripple that out, that’s everything 💞🌱 we’re not here to fix the world, we’re here to light it. sometimes that means planting seeds we’ll never see bloom 🌻✨ so yeah, maybe the sage was right, maybe the world doesn’t wanna be saved… but that doesn’t mean we stop loving it anyway 🕊️🌌
even when it’s lonely, even when no one listens truth still vibrates. keep sharing it. keep being it. 💜💫
