I still remember 9/11. I was young, and I didn’t fully understand what was happening but I knew something was different. I couldn’t name the feeling, but the whole atmosphere changed. Everything slowed down. People moved differently.
What I remember just as clearly is the way people came together after. There was this quiet kindness, neighbors checking in, strangers being gentle with each other. It felt like we were all connected more strongly than before.
